The Aurora Police Department, City of Aurora, Colorado, created and maintains this website / registry pursuant to the Colorado Sex Offender Registration Act, C.R.S. Section 16-22-101 et seq. The information contained on this site is intended to be used to protect the public, especially children, from recidivist criminal behavior. This site was not created or maintained to inflict additional punishment or embarrassment on any person listed on the site. The Aurora Police Department is currently compiling and reviewing all information related to sexual offender registration records including but not limited to court documents, certified convictions, sentencing, and place of residence. The Aurora Police Department is constantly compiling and receiving new offender information; therefore, there may be a lapse in time before a sex offender is listed on the website. The Aurora Police Department Sex Offender Registry includes information regarding persons required to register as a sex offender, who have listed an Aurora address as their place of residence and who are in compliance with the sex offender registration law. Sex offenders that have not complied with the registration requirements are not listed on this site yet they present a threat to the general health safety and welfare of the public. The City of Aurora does not represent that the information posted on the website is a complete listing of all sex offenders working, living, or commuting through the local jurisdiction. The Aurora Police Department Sex Offender Registry includes only those persons who have been required by law to register and who are in compliance with the sex offender registration laws. Person should not rely solely on the sex offender registry as a safeguard against perpetrators of sexual assault in their communities. The crime for which a person is convicted may not accurately reflect the level of risk. The public must be prepared and ever vigilant to protect themselves, their family and/or their community from persons engaging in criminal conduct, including but not limited to sexual offenses. The Aurora Police Department encourages the public to report all instances of unlawful sexual behavior or attempted unlawful sexual behavior in a timely fashion.
